• Participating centers
o Nationwide: review feasibility, alternatives (passive alerts), decision based on goals, efficacy, feasibility, ticket assigned for build, move to PRD.
o SUNY- determine devices (won’t know if using HCL); job request made; project assigned; Criteria agreed on BPA tested; committee approved, testing and corrections; approval; IMPT moves into production. Med list is a better source of device data use than check box in form/sheet. How are we defining use? RW hopes we can keep the med list accurate.
o Seattle: form for submission for requirements for BPA, problems, triggers, how success is measures, who receives, links; request is reviewed by CDS; decision to build; timeline dependent on existing queue and institutional priorities; moved into PRD; changed to active mode
o Grady: confusing med list based on trying to get coverage and changing insurance. Documentation tends to fall on the provider. Hoping that BPA will help them document better.
o UT Southwestern: submit request; leadership review; informatics assessment; clinical decision support meeting; complete build (days/weeks); education request prior to deployment.
o Grady: creation: timeline will take 4-6 weeks. Need to make decisions on how it will be targeted to the diabetes center.
o Hassenfeld: MP mentioned challenges of prescribing vs use. No timeline now. Timeline depends on other priorities. Because there is funding, she thinks it will be moved. Committee review, dev in sandbox and then review for finalization/deployment
• First 12 months: use or no use.
• Nes asked: Limit for upper age limit? RW things we should look at and stratify by age but not limit by age. Instead- limit by other criteria for reason why AID is inappropriate.
• Discussion about inclusion criteria for length of diagnosis. Prioritizing at least one visit. Maybe it will lead to advocacy with insurance if we learn that duration since onset is a barrier.
