Whitney Beaton, co-chair, University of Wisconsin, reviewed the agenda then began with an ice breaker where we discussed what we are looking forward to as the season changes to Fall in parts of the country.

Abstracts:

  • Acceptance notifications are scheduled to go out this week.
  • Posters/Slides will be due October 9, 2026
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Diabetes, December 2026

Center Sharing: T1DX-QI, Ori Odugbesan, MD, MPH - Increasing CGM Adoption in Adults with Type 2 Diabetes

  • Ori reviewed her work on increasing CGM Adoption in adult with T2D. The aim of the project was to increase CGM utilization by 10% in adult with T2D while demonstrating a reduction in CGM disparities.
  • Three centers participated and used the T1DX-QI Health Equity Framework.
  • Changes ideas were identified using QI tools and tested using PDSAs.
  • Centers reported data monthly for 24 months.
  • Interventions for the three sites were reviewed, improvement charts, and conclusions were shared.

Center Introduction Slides:

  • Tim Bol welcomed the following centers to present their Center Introduction Slides: SUNY Upstate adult and pediatrics; Primary Children’s Hospital/University of Utah; NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island; University of Alabama – Birmingham, and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Michigan State
  • Yasi Mohsenian, co-chair, Seattle Children’s Hospital, lead a discussion based off a question raised the University of Wisconsin: How do you manage after hours pediatric care?
    • Discussion occurred and ideas were shared.
  • Tim shared upcoming Collaborative Call dates and topics, informed the group that remote attendance for the 2026 Learning Session will be included in October’s newsletter, and mentioned that for 2027, centers will be combined into four groups and presenters will be called on from each group for each of the our four meetings scheduled next year.
