Abstract Decisions
Learning Session abstract decisions have been finalized.
Authors should reference the 2026 T1DX-QI Learning Session Abstract Decisions page for additional information on oral and poster presentations.
2. Publications in Progress
The committee reviewed manuscripts currently in progress, as well as publications that have been published since the previous committee meeting.
Clinical Interest Form: Committee members and collaborators are encouraged to complete the Clinical Interest Form. The form will help identify potential co-authors and manuscript reviewers based on areas of clinical interest.
Publication Process Map: The committee reviewed the T1DX-QI Publication Process Map. The map outlines the publication process and roles throughout manuscript development and submission.
Publications Request Form: The Publications Request Form is available for submitting new publication requests.
3. Work Groups & Publications
The committee discussed the value of connecting T1DX-QI work groups with publication planning and identifying opportunities to map potential publications to ongoing work group activities. Members interested in joining a work group can view the current list of T1DX-QI Work Groups. Members were encouraged to join work groups that align with their interests and areas of expertise.
4. Article Processing Charges (APCs)
The committee discussed the Article Processing Charge Survey. The survey will help assess whether participating centers have publisher agreements that provide APC waivers or discounts for affiliated authors. Members were encouraged to complete the survey to help identify available publication funding opportunities.
5. Publications Templates & Checklists
Dr. Wolf and Dr. Broome presented publications templates and checklists designed to support manuscript development and submission. The committee also noted that the SQUIRE 2.0 guidelines are a useful resource when preparing manuscripts for QI-focused submissions.
6. Additional Discussion
Tracking Journal Relationships & Publication Outcomes: The committee discussed the potential value of tracking where T1DX-QI manuscripts are submitted and accepted.
Potential benefits include:
- Identifying journals with which the Collaborative has established relationships.
- Understanding which journals are receptive to different types of T1DX-QI manuscripts.
- Identifying trends in manuscript acceptance and publication opportunities.
Action Item:
Claire will share the journal tracking spreadsheet in a follow-up email.
Committee members should send Claire any additions, suggestions, or other information that would be helpful to include in the spreadsheet.
Converting Conference Abstracts into Manuscripts: The committee discussed strategies for ensuring that conference abstracts are developed into full manuscripts when appropriate. One idea was to identify opportunities to combine related abstracts into a larger manuscript. The committee will continue to explore ways to proactively identify abstracts that could be developed into publications and connect authors around these opportunities.
