Discussion also occurred about adding “other” to 7.3 and 7.4.

2026 Annual Survey Equity Questions: Discussion
Discussion occurred about what to do for new questions regarding the 2026 Annual Survey questions.

Race Reporting and Multiracial Data Handling
Tim reviewed four different methodologies for reporting racial information in healthcare.
Discussion occurred with most participants feeling that the first and fourth approaches were most appropriate.
The group unanimously prefer approach 4. People prefer when % add up to a 100%.
This feedback will be summarized and shared with the Data Quality team, who will use it in the QI Portal development.
HEAL Manuscript Development
Ashley Butler, MD, Texas Children’s Hospital, provided a brief update on the manuscript.
The data collected isn’t exactly suited to their needs, a new outline is being drafted.
