  • Group will collaborate to address challenges in HCLS adoption (insurance coverage, other obstacles etc.). Increase access and equitable access.
  • One of the sites performing chart reviews to see % of patients on HCLS – track over time. Track type of HCLS by specifications/model.
  • Can we track use versus active use of HCLS? Can we think about standardizing ways in which to capture the conversation?
  • Default is 14 days/2 weeks for last two weeks. For CGM use or not use. Use the same definition for HCLS use to track. Concerns: By only using last 2 weeks, it may not be reflective of truth for a number of patients. This can be a challenge for many patients who may only be missing information for that time period for CGM or pump part- would it be possible to parse that information
  • Difficulty getting flowsheets filled in different institutions. Can there be commitment to use flowsheets for documenting data across clinics by all providers for higher quality notes? Can medical assistants help. Epic consultants can be hired, where their algorithm can help pull data from the diverse methods of documentation. Can we create a system where without filling flowsheets, we can capture data from diverse sources of documentation. Option of using Glooko.
  • How to provide adequate resources for HCLS training? Less resourced population would be facing more barriers to report data and for providers to capture their data. Language support? Health literacy and numeracy required to understand devices and their manuals. Insurance and device support customer service an option?
  • Can we document if patients know how much time they are in closed loop- patient often doesn’t know they are in manual mode.
