Type 1 Diabetes Mapping Updates 

• 51 centers in production 

• 2 centers in validation 

• 6 centers still in the mapping process (development)

• 6 centers in production

Data Mapping Guideline Updates 

• James shared an updated version of the data mapping guideline document with language that could be understood by individuals with varying levels of IT knowledge 

• He will be completing the final version soon and I will share that with all of you 

Pump/AID Metric Definition Discussion 

• This has come up in multiple projects- can we consider/assume that a patient who is on a pump + CGM =  AID system? 

• On average- AID trends look lower than expected and don’t always match center expectations 

• This committee can create a definition/inclusion criterion with dates for this to be true if decided to move forward  

• Action steps  

• Pilot a small validation with BDC peds and potentially one other center to determine false + rate and what is acceptable if we were to move forward with updated definition (led by T1D exchange analyst)  

• Add AID use percent as a new variable to the data specification for future use 

T2D Mapping Discussion Regarding Proper T1D vs T2D Diagnosis 

• Discussion relating to T2D diagnosis definition and the interrelation to T1D diagnosis and potentially making updates to the current way of definition T2D diagnosis  

• Some centers have defined algorithms for this 

• Will continue this discussion in the coming months/meetings  

Brief Overview of 2026-2028 T1DX-QI Measures 

• Thank you for providing feedback on the measures that Alyssa shared with us during the meeting. I am attaching a document of the measures for all of you to have as a reference and these are posted on the member website as well. 

• Due to feedback raised in the last meeting, we have made the severe hypo requiring assistance measure more explicit so that “requiring assistance” is defined as “glucagon was administered.”  

• These measures are now considered finalized; however this committee will continue to work towards crafting the AID metric for future use.

Future meeting discussions: Continuing the AID metric definition discussion as well as hearing from the beta cell preservation group for potential new screening related metrics to be added to the data spec
