Whitney Beaton, MSN, APNP, AACNS-P, BC-ADM, CDCES, is a pediatric diabetes clinical nurse specialist with the University of Wisconsin–UW Health Kids diabetes program. She brings 17 years of pediatric nursing experience, including nine years dedicated to pediatric diabetes care. Working across the three spheres of clinical nurse specialist influence—patient, nurse/provider, and health system—Whitney leads initiatives that apply evidence-based practice to improve diabetes outcomes. Her work includes advancing diabetes technology education for both staff and patients, strengthening clinical practice, and driving system-level improvements. She serves as a quality improvement (QI) champion for the University of Wisconsin’s T1D Exchange site and was instrumental in developing the Diabetes in School Health (DiSH) telementoring program, where she currently serves as the Wisconsin state coordinator. She is committed to empowering care teams and families while advancing efficient, high-quality, patient-centered diabetes care.
