Risa Wolf, MD

Dr. Risa Wolf is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and the Director of the Pediatric Diabetes Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is an NIH funded investigator with research focused on using innovative technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve outcomes in pediatric diabetes. Dr. Wolf leads a monthly workshop on AI & Healthcare at Johns Hopkins. She is the founder and medical director of Camp Charm City diabetes camp.  

David Broome

David T. Broome, MD, MSc

University of Michigan Health

David T. Broome, MD, MSc, is an adult Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and Caswell Diabetes Institute Clinical and Translational Research Scholar at the University of Michigan. Dr. Broome's research is in type 1 diabetes (T1D) screening & prevention, conducting clinical trials for novel therapeutics in diabetes, and Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY). He currently is an investigator for several NIH/NIDDK and industry sponsored clinical trials dedicated to T1D screening & prevention, and MODY-Monogenic [including TrialNet, the Rare and Atypical Diabetes Network (RADIANT), βETA PRESERVE, and An Observational, Long-Term Safety Study of TZIELD (teplizumab-mzwv) in Patients with Stage 2 Type 1 Diabetes, PRECIDENTD], and Co-Chairs the PREcision DIabetes ConsorTium (PREDICT; which is the largest multi-center MODY data collaboration agreement in the United States). He was the recipient of several teaching and research awards and currently serves as a Review Editor on the editorial board for Frontiers in Clinical Diabetes and Healthcare, and on the editorial board for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM).

Writing Workflow with Deadlines

  • First/Senior author submits proposal manuscript idea to Coordinating Center
  • Coordinating Center reviews request for feasibility (2 weeks)
  • Coordinating Center analyst discusses analysis plan with first author (4 weeks)
  • Coordinating Center shares data package with first/senior author (4-6 weeks)
  • First/Senior author writes and submits first draft to Coordinating Center (8 weeks)
  • Co-authors selected (2 weeks):
    • a. Coordinating Center and first/senior author selects co-authors based on data submission, clinical interest and presentation/publication history with T1DX-QI, OR
    • b. Coordinating Center invites PI to select co-authors
  • Coordinating Center returns to co-authors for revisions (2 weeks)
  • First/Senior author reviews, address feedback and returns to Coordinating Center
    (2 weeks)
  • Coordinating Center selects 3 reviewers from the Publication Committee for feedback based on clinical interest (2 weeks)
  • First/Senior author review, address feedback from Publication Committee (2 weeks)
  • Coordinating Center or First/Senior author submits to journal (2 weeks)
