Meeting Minutes:
Ori Odugbesan, MD, T1DX-QI, welcomed the group and made introductions.
Shared Utilization Data Across all Centers:
Ori presented the analysis on the Thematic Analysis that each of the centers provided. Data was received from all eight participating centers; thank you for all your contributions in making our deadline.
Nestoras Mathioudakis, MD, Johns Hopkins University Adult, led additional discussion regarding this data.
Malek El Muayed, MD, SUNY Upstate Adult, imagined a situation where 90% penetration rate of AID would have a different denominator compared to a center with 50% penetration and how that dynamic works with the number of people seen and numbers of firings. Dr. Mathioudakis believes this would be good data to acquire, but it requires additional slicer dicer reports and an additional ask of the participating centers.
Additional discussion occurred about better capturing “patient declined” reasons with more accurate verbiage.
Don Buckinham suggested Pareto charts and offered support in doing so. Dr. Mathioudakis also suggested ways to look at additional reasons that were provided. Nicole Rioles, T1DX-QI, suggested looking at the feasibility of analyzing patient level vs. encounter level data across multiple clinicians.
