Meeting Minutes: QI Collaborative Clinical Leadership Meeting
Key points:
- Collaborative growth: we now have 41 clinics participating! 28 pediatric and 13 adult clinics.
- November 2021 Learning Session
- QIC survey: We will distribute a survey in late September that serves a few purposes, helping us track:
- What has changed in the clinics over last year related to telemedicine. Results from this survey will be published in a second telemedicine paper, following “Adoption of Telemedicine for Type 1 Diabetes Care During the COVID-19 Pandemic.” Lee et al
- Psycho-social screening practices across the Collaborative
- Clinical staffing FTE
- Flu vaccination rates (Todd Alonso expressed an interest in sharing best practices by other specialty divisions, such as hematology/oncology
- What to expect?
- Survey will be distributed via Qualtrics
- We will distribute surveys to PI/Coordinator dyads and ask that 1 survey be completed per clinic
- Survey will contain approximately 25 questions
- We ask you to complete/return survey within a month’s time

Next steps: meeting to discuss new onset trends
- Topic of increases in diabetes onset identified as a high priority interest. Group organized a second meeting to discuss rates and next steps:
- Abstract will be created for the JOD, focusing on pediatric site data
- Pediatric sites will be sharing new onset data with T1D Exchange for publication purposes
- Full review of adult data and pediatric data will be collected over the next 2-3 months to develop a new manuscript on this topic.
