Meeting Minutes: T1D Exchange QI Collaborative Clinical Leadership Meeting

    • Action item: Coordinating center will send out message next week to whole Collaborative, explaining the meeting purpose change and updating the Zoom invite list

  • Priya Prahalad, Stanford Peds (Inpatient Insulin Pump Policy)
  • NYU- Parent/patient cleared, waiver signed
  • Sinai Adult and SUNY Adult- Pre Surgery requires endo consult, which allows them to assess and personalize the decision
  • Many said that they were putting together a policy (without having one in place now and that this is a common challenge for many)
  • Michael Gottschalk, Rady Children’s (Insulin Pump for Boluses Only)
  • UF Peds- have a few athletes who use untethered approach and works well give Tresiba and disconnect when not bolusing/ infant that does every other hour
  • NYU Peds- untethered as well with HCL overnight
  • UAB- Infant that triedevery other day dosing, blood in canula spot
  • Teen population many challenges (dawn phenomenon, carbs at night, etc)
  • Jeff Hitchcock- diluting insulin
  • CMH- have only done this with 4 hour intervals propose manuscript based on this information
  • Lauren Golden, NYU Langone Adult (CGM/Clarity Goals)
  • Sinai adult- Uses snipping in the chart to readjust the goals
  • NYU Peds- switches goals in clarity platform
  • Texas Children’s – Long-term goal: EHR Integration with standardized time in range (e.g., Glooko Flowsheet stats, Clarity Redox, etc.)
  • Clarity can adjust targets but the practicalities of team making adjustments during/pre visit is challenging
  • Suggestion to make this a topic in May
  • Sarah Corathers, Cincinnati Children’s (Kiosk in waiting room)
  • UF Peds- kiosk for questionnaire only
  • NYU Adult – cloud to cloud approach
  • Texas Children’s- full cloud approach in 5 years, found that families prefer MA’s to record the data
  • CMH- tried but could not protect identity
