| Questions and discussions | Center Sharing: Katie Noland, Children’s Mercy Hospital, presented on their center’s QI work by sharing process maps and providing other updates.
The following centers provided commentary on filling in the requested data table:
UC Davis Adults – filling in Smartsheet and using that to complete the data request form. May have issues with Mean a1c for 2023.
UC Davis Pediatrics – no data for 2023, 70 new onsets in 2024 with 43% AID usage. Can’t pull race/ethnicity data. No mean a1c. 2025: work in progress. Discussion occurred about how to determine A1cs pre and post initiation and the value of collecting such data.
Washington University Adults – 2024 and 2025 data is acquirable. Exact date of diagnosis is a challenge, but they have worked with their IT department to help generate a list. 2023 data will be problematic and similar issues as other centers with the A1c values.
Stanford Adults – manual chart reviews going backwards and finding ~4-5 patients per month. They are able to provide all fields for all three reporting years, but it will take time to provide all of the data.
NYU Mineola – can provide 2024 and 2025. T1D Exchange will pull their a1cs from mapped data.
CCHMC – can provide data for 2024 and 2025. 167 patients diagnosed in 2024 and similar number for 2025 and finds reporting all of these values to be doable. CHoA – 2024 will be a manual review, 446 new onsets that year so it is a lot of chart reviewing. 312 from January to November 2025. All requested values can be reported.
Johns Hopkins Adult – Are able to get the data from the Portal, but 2023 data was collected differently so comparing 2023 to the other years doesn’t seem logical. Meeting with their Epic team to help out with this but it won’t be ready until next year. We will discuss this with our data people.
Children’s Mercy Hospital – It’s a large chart review, some of the data is available. 220 new onsets in 2025 and 330 for 2024.
Discussion occurred about how 2025 data will not be fully captured for another 12 months. Ori will request an update at the end of 2025 to complete the 2025 data. The group is looking for a way for us to provide a patient list from our mapped data. Susan says we can pull that data and send them patient ids for them to link to their MRNs.
