Today’s Meeting to Discuss:
o Dr Mathioudakis shared a potential prototype for the BPA logic/ design. Two different iterations of the BPA.
o Where should it appear
o When should it fire. The group suggested that the BPA can appear before the visit with the patient or at the start of the visit. But the BPA should reappear before the end of the visit.
o Discussed acknowledgment reasons for BPA. (Will Prescribe, Does not have T1D, Already Prescribed, Patient Declined, Provider Declined, etc.)
• Discussion about the language that should be included in the BPA. Overview of rationale for BPA firing. The group agreed that very little language is needed in the BPA. Juan shared that BPA should include orders and diagnosis. Dr. Mathioudakis shared JHUs BPA request form. The group discussed where the BPA should appear.
