PWD Advisory Committee

In attendance: Craig Bobik, Alyssa Cabrera, Emily Coppedge, Jeniece Ilkowitz, Amy Ohmer, Claire Rainey, Nicole Rioles, Stacey Spirrison

• Welcome and introductions: New members: Alyssa and Claire at T1DX-QI
• Group confirmed that the “templated” documents that we revised in last meeting and through email are now finalized. Jeniece and Emily updated documents and will share with group for final review. Next steps: Coordinating Center will clean/get designed so that they are ready for use. We will share via email as well as make accessible on website
  • Template for child/pump care plan use to be customized
  • Guidance for discussing T1D with non-diabetes specialists
  • Provider Letter
• Backup plan document: At recent Collab call, UC Davis presented on having a “backup plan” for pump/tech failures, etc. PWD group discussed making a patient facing resource so that PWD/families know what to do when devices/medication fails.
  • Group brainstormed 10-12 important back up plan concepts for medications and devices
  • Draft version of that document is attached.

  • Please share feedback to Nicole and Claire for the backup plan document by 8/30.
