- SOWs are ending in June 2025. If any clinic wishes to request to extend an SOW no payment Amendment, language for that Amendment can be found on slide 4 of the deck (attached.) Please share that request by 6/1/2025 to QI@t1dexchange.org
- Overview of new projects with funding opportunities
- Screening project (T1D)
- Increase screening from baseline for T1D of first-degree relatives of PwT1D
- Goal of monitoring people as they progress to stage 3 T1D
- Four pediatric centers will be selected in the next two months. If you are interested in participating in this project, please email QI@t1dexchange.org
- Obesity and T2D Sponsored project
- Focused on GLP1 prescribing for PwT2D and obesity
- 4-6 centers will be selected for 12-65 year old populations
- Aim: improve success for GLP1 prescribing for A1c and weight reduction
- Group discussion: concerns about the ability for clinics to successfully track who is using the drugs (vs who is prescribed) because of the challenges of insurance coverage for this drug.
- Members suggested that surveying insurers, PWD, and clinicians may be valuable for this project.
- Many challenges were discussed: wrong information in EMR; changes in coverage approval are many. Information located at pharmacy does not pull through to EMR
- If you are interested in participating in this project, please email QI@t1dexchange.org
- T2D data updates
- 21 pediatric clinics are participating in T2D interventions. Centers are mapping data and are signing Data Agreement Amendments to include type 2 diabetes populations
- T1D Exchange is setting goal to map six adult centers for T2D.
- If any adult center is interested in participating in this, please email QI@t1dexchange.org
- For reference, please see T2D data specification https://t1dx-qi.t1dexchange.org/data-mapping/
- Interest in generating health economics data in 2026 to demonstrate QI efficacy/realizing health outcomes. We would like to talk with clinics that are interested in reviewing claims and outcomes data.
