- Review of project aims and timelines
- Qualtrics: screened, positive (to know who is being monitored). Smartsheet is
everyone, including people who screen negative. Need all confirmatory tests. - Interventions happening now
- Texas Children’s
- New referral process for the sit down T1D clinic.
- Changed name to “Pre Symptomatic screening for type 1 diabetes.”
- Simplified to one click; includes questions about autoimmune
conditions and family history. - Added nutrition component to the clinic.
- General advice is provided to avoid concentrated sweets.
- Individual meetings with a dietitian are available on a case-by-case
basis. - First Texas Medicaid patient and first Spanish-speaking patient
received Tzield. - Challenges with weekend infusion center options, but some batching
of patients has been successful. - Recommendations against retesting glucose before infusion to avoid
delays.

- Transitioning to EPIC system.
- Currently still working with Cerner; progress made on a power form.
- Finalized handout under review by patient and family education team.
- Streamlining workflow with administration support.

- Created a flyer for clinics and shared with other providers.
- Developed a smartphrase with testing instructions and ICD codes.
- Engaging with GI and other departments for collaboration.
- University of Indiana
- Optimized referral process for early-stage type 1 diabetes clinic.
- Fellow’s triaging referrals using a decision tree
- Implemented T1D encounters and screening discussions.
- Conducted 41 T1D encounters with 73% documenting discussions
about screening. - Expansion of in-person visits with a new nurse practitioner.
- Texas Children’s
- Discussions on Screening challenges, Communication and coordination with
family’s and clinical teams, and clinical trials. - Trevon will reach out to participating centers regarding focus groups.
