HEAL 2024 Co-Chair Nominations

• Benefits of being a co-chair for the HEAL Advisory Committee:
• Seat at the table; contribute as a subject matter expert.
• Leadership on a national committee
• Co-lead with peers to advance health equity.
• Co-chair nomination call for next term June 2024- May 2026
• Each participant within the group will nominate a peer to be co-chair.
• Nominations are due March 30

HEAL Charter

• The charter was recently updated.
• Updates included Roles and Responsibilities of the committee and its members.
• Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Statements were both added to the charter.

ADEPT Summit

• The group discussed possible speakers for the upcoming ADEPT Summit.
• Speakers will share best practices and possible solutions to addressing equity for patients.

 HEAL 2024 Work

• 2024 Priority Areas

1. Dig deeper into analysis and using data (continuing on 2023 work)
2. Inequity trends for T2D data.
3. Shift to best practice guides or workflows.
4. Private Insurance barriers in partnership with Georgetown University.
5. Public Insurance barriers in partnership with Center for Healthcare Strategies.
6. Dissemination of EMR Decision support systems to advance health equity.

Health Equity Best Practice Advisory Project

• 3-year project across 6 centers.
• The project will be funded by the Helmsley Charitable Trust and JDRF.
• Sites have shared age, gender, race/ethnicity, and insurance data based on patient population.
• The group used a miro board tool during the call to add ideas for HEAL 2024 Work.
