Insulin at room temperature

What advice does your diabetes center provide on how long to keep and use insulin (vial or pen) at room temperature until discarding it?  The insulin manufacturers recommend 30 days, but published data (see attached paper) and real-world experience indicate 2-4 months is safe and effective.
