Does anyone have experience with patients who only use pump to bolus?

Question: Dr. Gottschalk has a patient who would like to use an insulin pump for boluses only; no basal insulin delivery.  We are concerned that the long periods of inactive time would lead to occlusions in tubing/catheter.  Wondering if anyone has experience with this?
